Contributions
BAI derives income from three sources - the sale of our artists work, the staging and production of workshops, and donations in the form
of individual contributions and grants.
Art Sales - BAI collects a percentage of all art sales in exchange for providing local artists with managed, secure space and marketing.
Workshops - BAI contracts with artists that are willing to conduct workshops in Borrego Springs. A portion of the workshop “per person” fee is retained for space rental as well as our efforts to organize, promote, and support the event.
Donations - The Institute has been heavily reliant on individual contributions for the start up capital required and annual operating expenses for the past two years. The lengthy process of obtaining our Federal Tax Exempt status delayed efforts to identify and apply for grants. We have just recently formed a Fundraising Group that will focus primarily on grant funding.
